dl-DDNS v1: A Linux friendly Dynamic DNS client

For use with namecheap.com

I wrote this Perl script (DDNS client) to solve a problem. The problem: I was migrating to Apache and couldn't find a free and simple yet effective Dynamic DNS script for Linux that did what I needed. This DDNS script certainly is nothing fancy but it gets the job done. It offers a testing mode and logging. I have enclosed some information with the download about how to set up this script for testing mode and how to set it up as a 'service' via crontab if all goes well during testing mode. Please read the README.html file! This Dynamic DNS script is free of charge and you can modify this code anyway you please.

NOTES:

1) This Dynamic DNS client only works with the namecheap.com DDNS service
2) You will need to have wget installed (most Linux distributions do)
3) This script was tested on RedHat/Fedora kernel 2.6+ and Mepis(Debian) kernel 2.4+
